TOURIST SPOT IN TATAPANI
Tattapani village is located in Mandi district at a distance of 52 km from Shimla and 29 km from Naldehra. It is situated on the right bank of river Satluj at an altitude of 2,230 ft. above the sea level. In local language, ‘Tattapani’ means ‘hot water’. The place is known for its hot water springs that is spread over an area of one square kilometer. The spring water is said to have curative powers that provide relief from ailments like joint pain, fatigue, stress relief, and poor blood circulation, and reduces fat and skin diseases.
Adventure tourists can go for white water rafting on Sutlej River. Visitors can get accommodation at various guesthouses, budget hotels and luxury resorts that are located nearby.
Tattapani is a destination for water sport activities. River rafting takes place in the cold water of River Sutlej, one of the longest rivers of India.The ideal time for this activity is during May and June. One can also undertake this activity from Chabba (12 km) to Tattapani or from Sunni (5 km) to Tattapani. Another option is a stretch of 36 km from Pandowa to Tattapani.
Mountain biking or cycling is possible along the banks of the river Sutlej. Tourists may go up to the Chindi village, which is 30 km away from Tattapani.
Trekking is also one of the most popular sport activities in Tattapani.
