How to Reach Kinnaur
By Air
The nearest airport is at Shimla, around 267 km from Kalpa. Shimla airport is connected to Delhi and Kullu. Taxis are easily available from Shimla to Kinnaur.
By Train
Dehradun is the nearest railhead. Nearest railway station is also Shimla and it is around 244 km from Kinnaur.
By Road
Daily buses and regular taxi services are available from Shimla and Rampur to Kinnaur. You can also reach Kinnaur from Lahaul and Spiti. However, Malling Nullah near Nako on the route is landslide prone.
Weather
As per the weather conditions, Kinnaur may be best visited from the month of May to October. The temperature of weather in summer season here varies between 0 and 26°C. In winter season the temperature remains below 22°C and may fall down to -4°C.
About Kinnaur:-
Kinnaur bounded by the Tibet to the east, in the northeast corner of Himachal Pradesh, beautiful district having the three high mountains ranges i.e. Zaskar, Greater Himalayas and Dhauladhar, enclosing valleys of Sutlej, Spiti, Baspa and their tributaries. Chandigarh To Kinnaur roundtrip distance is approximately 750 Kms. All the valleys are strikingly beautiful. The slopes are covered with thick wood, orchards, fields and picturesque hamlets.
Sarahan
Sarahan is small village in Himachal Pradesh. Sarahan is famous for its Temple named “Bhimakali Temple”, dedicated to the goddess Bhimakali, presiding deity of the rulers of former Bhushahr State. The Architecture style of temple is an Indo-Tibetan style. The valley is surrounding by forested by slopes and offers views of the high Mountains. Sarahan is also known as the gateway to kinnaur.
