Manikaran: Manikaran is a famous pilgrimage place in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It is located in Parvati valley, the largest valley in Kullu district. Some of the most amazing places to visit in Manikaran are Harinder Mountain, Lord Ramachandra Temple, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurudwara, Kulant Pith.
Manimahesh: A holy place in Himachal, located in the Bharmaur Tribal valley of district Chamba. Few of the attractions here are the Manimahesh Lake which is at the foot of Mount Kailash. It is at an elevation of 13,500 feet. The mountain is believed to possess divine powers and is a great attraction for tourists and pilgrims. At Manimahesh you are to visit the Bharmani (sacred Goddess), a local state level fair if visiting in the months of August-September, Dhanchoo (has a beautiful waterfall), Bandar Ghati, Gauri Kund, Shiv Kalotri, and Ganesh Ghati.
Kinnaur Kailash(Shivling Rock): Kinnaur is considered the land of fairytales and fantasies which offers spectacular views of snow covered mountains, apple orchards, lush green valleys, and vineyards. Accordingly, to mythological tales, Lord Shiva resides here with at Kinnaur Kailash with his better half, Goddess Parvati. Situated at 17200 ft above sea level, the trek to this mountain (14 km long) is one of the most difficult treks for the travelers from across the country. This area has breathtaking scenic beauty and is a less explored place of Himachal Pradesh.
Kheerganga: Kheerganga, as the name suggests, is a Ganga River. It is named Kheerganga due to the milky water flowing into the Parvati valley. The valley offers a spectacular view of the Parvati River and the Glacier of Lahaul Spiti. The area offers great treks amidst nature and travelers can relax taking the hot spring baths. While one is trekking, he will have interesting spots en route like Shiv Temple, Rudra Naag Waterfall and variety of flora on the way to Kheerganga. Another attraction there in Pin Parvati which is home to snow leopards and other rare species of wildlife. You will have a mesmerizing experience along the valley and will find a large number of foreigners and hippies in the area.
Bijli Mahadev: Situated at 2,460 m, the temple of Bijli Mahadev has the presence of Lord Shiva. The temple lies at a distance of 22 km from Kullu and has a 3 km long trek. One needs to climb more than 1, 000 stairs to reach this beautiful shrine. While on your journey to the shrine you will be taken aback by the beauty of dark deodar forests and a beautiful view of the Kullu valley. One reaching the top you will get the amazing 360-degree view of Kullu and Parvati Valley.
Prashar Lake: This pristine blue heavenly lake is located amidst the Dhauladhar ranges of Kullu. Alongside the lake, a temple is located that was dedicated to the sage Parashara. The Prashar Lake is situated at an elevation of 2730 m above sea level and is a perfect holiday destination for people looking for a getaway from city life. Nestled amidst the cedar trees, the lake is a treat for visitors, who can enjoy the serenity and amazing view of the snow clad mountains and water tributaries of Sutlej River flowing towards the south.
Cricket Ground – Chail: Situated amongst the standing tall deodar trees, it is the highest cricket ground in the world at an elevation of 2,144m. It is one of the famous cricket stadiums in India that is located in the scenic hill station of Himachal Pradesh. At night, tourists and visitors can enjoy the magnificent beauty of the ground along with the spectacular views of Sutlej Valley, Shimla, and Kasauli.
Gue Monastery: Located at a height of approx 10,000 feet, Hue is a small village comprising about 50 to 75 houses. This place tucked deep in the mountains will give you an escape into the fairy world. A lesser known place to the travelers, it is famous for India’s naturally preserved mummy of the old monk. You will find a mummy inside the glass case which is naturally preserved for years. The Mummy is placed in a monastery built at the end of the village hilltop.
